Brewing Instructions

Steep 1 bag in 150ml warm water (not boiling) for 5 minutes for small birds, 10 minutes for large birds.
Allow to cool completely. Serve as tea, or pour over food or pellets.

Offer once or twice a week during periods of recovery, seasonal changes, moulting, travel, environment change, after welcoming your bird into a new home or just as a treat.

Adjust steeping time and frequency based on your bird’s size, species, and individual needs. Do not use in place of proper veterinary care, seek advice from an avian vet if required. This is a complementary product and should not be used as the sole diet. Offer alongside fresh water.

Our teabags are made in Scotland from sustainably managed, natural forestry fibres. They’re plastic-free, fully biodegradable, and compostable, so they won’t add to landfill. The bags are sealed with heat using a natural substance derived from shellfish, which means no microplastics and zero harm to the environment.

Why buy from The Aviary

We’re more than just a parrot food brand. We’re bird lovers who care deeply about the wellbeing of parrots both in homes and in the wild. Every purchase helps fund wild parrot conservation. Each year, we donate part of our profits to organisations working to rescue, rehabilitate, and rewild endangered macaws and other species.

We’re also working hard to keep our footprint small. Our packaging is recyclable, and we actively avoid overusing AI in our business to stay as human and conscious as possible.

Is it safe to feed parrots tea?

Yes! As long as the ingredients are parrot-safe (ours are) and you're waiting for the water to completely cool, herbal tea can make an enriching and exciting addition to a parrot's diet.

What are the benefits of tea for parrots?

Herbal teas for parrots can provide gentle health support, hydration, and enrichment. Depending on the blend, they may help with digestion, encourage relaxation, or provide natural antioxidants. Immunitea is a blend of hibiscus, elderflower, dandelion root and calendula - herbs and flowers traditionally valued for their supportive properties.

How often should I offer Immunitea?

Most parrots enjoy it 1–3 times per week. It’s intended as a dietary enrichment and gentle herbal support, not as a replacement for fresh water, which should always be available.

Can I serve it hot to my parrot?

No. Always allow the tea to cool completely to room temperature before serving to avoid burns, especially to the delicate crop.
